If I find a plain object there are times where i admire its simplicity and basic appeal. Then there are other items that I am drawn to draw on or paint. These are totally instinctual and not in my immediate consciousness or awareness. I feel like the item is asking me to transform it - to make it a beautiful signal to all who see it. Sounds a bit nutty but that is my truth. This was a plain wood tray I got from a thrift store. I love vintage looking graphics. I love mandalas. I love the sentiments of Rumi and Hafiz.
