“I paint on just about anything and everything so this commission from Monique Marvez, the hugely popular Los Angeles comedian and KFI radio personality, was a great way to start 2019! She gave me just a few constraints - she wanted bright red, peacock blue and gold colors - and said “make me a good fortune chair! Go crazy girl!” What an opportunity for me to incorporate all my years of fabric painting and the freedom to really get ‘jiggy’ with it. I picked up the cream-colored satin boudoir chair and ottoman and took it home to paint it. I felt really excited about the results and thought it really captured the personality of my client's smoky siren looks combined with her bawdy and brainy stand-up act. Her reaction was simply “This is BEYOND BEYOND!!!”
